Why the title Olive Finch?

Glad you asked.

I had a dream a couple of weeks ago where someone handed me an olive green bird. They (I have no idea who this person was) said, “Here’s your bird, it’s a Finch. Now hold onto it.”

That was it.

I walked around with this beautiful bird, one that I’d never seen before, in the palm of my hand. The feathers were a gorgeous olive green.

Turns out, there really are green finches and they reside everywhere but the United States. (There may be some, but none in California).

I know nothing about finches. Absolutely nothing. But for reasons I can’t explain, this bird was a finch (because I was told it was a finch) and that was that.

Now, olive green happens to be my favorite color. I wear it all the time, I look for it, and I compliment people wearing it. I mean, I sell vintage olive green clothing in my Etsy shop all the time. It’s such a versatile color. Have you ever noticed that this color goes with any other color?

Every color in the rainbow works with olive green. It’s this universal color that is meant for everyone wearing anything. So, this color showing up in my dream wasn’t odd.

But, the color green is synonymous with greenery, meaning, new; growth; fresh growth, and a newness that comes with creation. The olive green part makes me think it’s a universal freshness … that it applies to everyone.

As for the finch, well, I looked it up. What does a finch symbolize in a dream? The finch represents joy and happiness in the spiritual world. What does finch mean in the bible? It’s symbolic of Christ’s passion.

So there you have it. I dreamt it, my work shifted, and a new creation emerged from it. I’m going to go with that. Fresh words of growth for everyone all under the cover of Christ’s passion.
